My Son is struggling to been seen at his current school. For the Prince, I know him now to be. And the King he is destined to become.
PERSONAL STORY
He is the subject of Racial discrimination. He has been called a 'n', slave and monkey. I look around and struggle to see images that speak to his lineage and relevancy. That is why I wanted to create my collection Royalty that is available through Shopify
INSPIRATION BEHIND ROYALTY
Because our World can be cruel and too few believe in the concepts of inclusion, equality and diversity. At least too few for me. With his flaws and vulnerabilities, I hope he is strong enough to defeat self-hate. And self-hate won't hinder his ability to withstand their hate. So maybe if he can see Beautiful Black and Brown figures draped in the finest robes with crowns that fit so naturally. He will Believe and be at Peace. He will know that he can transcend the way those who wore shackles did until they were free. From Royalty to slavery yet there was solidarity in the knowledge that they would not surrender their equality. This is the stock from which he comes.
CALL TO ACTION
So, my ask is that you do not go about your day as if He is not in pain. Speak up when you see injustice. Be kind when you encounter someone different than you. Embrace Humanity, it is not to be feared. This world has room for us all. Volunteer and serve those less fortunate.
